Scotland's first silver Catering Mark in a care home
Big congratulations go to City of Edinburgh Council Health & Social Care who have renewed their bronze Catering Mark and also upgraded Inch View Care Home to silver award.
It is a huge achievement for the team at Inch View Care Home and the City of Edinburgh Council to become the first care home in Scotland to gain the silver Catering Mark award.
Inch View Care Home goes the extra mile when it comes to good food. It has built strong connections with a local organic farm that supplies the care home with vegetables and which has welcomed residents for a visit. An intergenerational project with pupils from Liberton High School is underway, and a polytunnel has just been constructed in the grounds – one of a number of initiatives using the power of food to improve care for older people.
The proactive approach by the committed management team at Inch View has been a critical factor in its success; something we hope to see replicated in care settings across Scotland.
