Cabinet Secretary meets pupils and staff at Food for Life Scotland school
Roseanna Cunningham MSP - Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform - visited Currie Community High School in the City of Edinburgh yesterday ahead of the launch of the Scottish Government’s new draft Climate Change Plan.
All primary and secondary schools in the City of Edinburgh have the Bronze Food for Life Catering Mark for their school meals, and Currie CHS is one of two schools currently piloting a Silver Award menu. The school has a long tradition of sustainability-related learning, and was chosen on this basis.
The pupils and staff on Currie's CHS Food for Life Action Group (FLAG) enjoyed the opportunity to meet the Cabinet Secretary; sharing information about their wider learning around food-related issues as well as telling her more about their commitment to sustainable, local, ethical, planet-friendly food.
