Westpark tatties - from school garden to school dinner
Pupils at Westpark Primary School have seen the potatoes they've grown in their school garden end up on their dinner plates and, in doing so, have experienced the entire 'soil to plate' journey. They have been involved in growing the potatoes and then passed these on to us, as the school cooks, after harvesting. As you can see in the photo, the pupils have then seen the potatoes prepped and cooked, ready to eat!
The pupils have also been involved in creating an eco-rap which has incorporated healthy eating as well as other environmentally-friendly behaviours. For Westpark Primary, being eco is pretty cool - and food culture & behaviours is a big part of this.
