Free Winter Warming Food & Hugs for Studying Students
On Sunday, December 7th, Transition University of St Andrews, the Vegetarian Society and Student Minds teamed up to feed and hug stressed out students outside the library.
Transition’s Edible Campus team harvested a number of their home grown autumn and winter vegetables from a number of their community gardens including Brussels sprouts, kale, carrots, parsnips and Jerusalem artichokes for the Veg Society to turn them into something warm and comforting. There were plenty of dishes to choose from including delicious soups, curries, sandwiches and as well as a tasty vegan chili-chocolate brownies. The warm food and endless cuddles were welcomed by a 100 plus library goers who came out into the cold for a much needed break, a hug and nutritional energy boost. After all, eating well and staying healthy is essential to any hard working student.
