Borestone Primary Tattie Field
Having learned about the benefits of growing, cooking and eating locally produced seasonal produce, staff and P7 pupils from Borestone Primary School in Stlrling have decided to give up a section of their outdoor space in order for it to become a tattie field!
It was no mean feat, given permission from Stirling Council and the cooperation of a local farmer was needed. However, where there is a will, there is a way and we are delighted to announce the project was given the go ahead. Throughout the process the P7 class have kept a blog of all their learning and this can be accessed at https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/st/borestonetattiefieldproject/
The long term goal is that the harvested crop be used in the school kitchen or sold to members of the local community. Other classes have also planted fruit trees, vegetables and herbs so we hope to be enjoying the fruits of our labour in due course. Watch this space!!
